Guys who complain about the friendzone often don’t care about their female friends’ personal boundaries, forcing their female friends build more walls up. A good cartoon.

“Ha ha, and then what? 😉 ”
“For the love of God, Montresor!” -Cask of Amontifriendzone, Edgar Allan Poe
Incessantly, I heard a smacking, as of some entitled dipshit whacking, whacking on my chamber door.
Resignedly, I placed another layer, voicing a quiet, repeated prayer, “This dude thinks he’s a player, but I am not a point to score, he should fuck off and bother me no more.”
My story for the @thorkibigbang. Thanks so much to the mods! This project has been amazing.
Utter heart-exploding gratitude to @raven-brings-light for the gorgeous artwork and to Raven & @fictions-stranger for beta reading. They were instrumental in helping me polish this story. Huge hugs to @illwynd for the horror-writing confidence boost.
Once he was alone, he poured a double E.H. Taylor single barrel and searched through the mess of his nightstand for the bottle of Zebutal Eir had prescribed for when the headaches got bad. He took one with a huge swallow of bourbon.
Absently, he ran a finger along the scar that cut a vertical line on the axis where the pupil of his right iris used to be. When the glass was empty he poured another.
It felt like the kind of night when the dreams would hit.

The point of voting blue in 2018 isn’t to make the US perfect. We cannot accomplish that in one fell swoop. There’s gerrymandering, voter apathy, voter suppression, and generations of older party-line fucks we have to deal with.
Voting blue in 2018 is to make it lessimmediately threatening for PoC, LGBT+ people, the disabled, and any other marginalized demographic. It’s a stopgap against Republicans who are aligned with Nazis, white supremacists, and sexual abusers.
Correcting politics in the United States is going to take decades of new voters staying on top of politics and not falling prey to apathy, like our predecessors.
People telling you not to waste a vote on 3rd Party this midterm aren’t saying “never vote 3rd party.” Republicans have united behind one utterly heinous front. We need to unite behind Democrats, for the time being.
there’s no reason not to vote for democrats, but you need to understand that they exist to uphold the very system that causes all of this bad shit. democrats are NOT your friends and voting for them does nothing more than delay the rise of fascism
Once trump is gone y’all can spend as much time as you want on the socialist revolution. This is about dealing with an immediate threat, right now.
Anybody who tells you not to vote blue this election is either 1) a jackass concerned more with pure idealism than real-world solutions 2) a dumbfuck who has zero idea how the us politucal system actually works 3) an incredibly wonderful mixture of 1 and 2 or 4) a Russian fake news blog. There are no exceptions.
So, to all those number 2s out there, let me lay it down for ya. We have a two-party system. Number 1s can cry about that all they want, but you have to work within the system to effect change, and right now that is the system. That system does not fuction without checks and balances. What do checks and balances mean in US politics? It means that we have three branches of government which have to work together to actually govern the country, and each branch “checks” the power of the others These are the executive (the President), legislative (Senate and House), and judicial (SCOTUS).
The founding fathers were evidently shortsighted asshats who never foresaw politics becoming as vehemently partisan as they are right now, because when you only have two parties there will obviously be times when all three branches are controlled by the same party. And that is what we have right now. The GOP has the Presidency, Congress, and SCOTUS which basically means they have carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want because Dems do not have the numbers to stop them. We have to FLIP CONGRESS so that when Republicans propose their next evil bill aimed at stripping away your rights, the Democrats have the numbers to kill it or at the very least tie up the legislative process. Think back to the Obama administration and how if he had wanted to pass a law saying “there are 24 hours in a day,” the Republican-controlled Congress would have blocked it for no other reason than sheer contrariness. THAT is what we need to make happen now with the Trump administration.
Yup. And to all the ideological purist 1′s out there…
Anyone not wanting to vote for a candidate they don’t love 100%, think of every bigoted conservative asshole you have ever met or seen in this country. Do you think they’re staying home because they might not get everything they want? Do you think they’re sitting there deciding not to vote just to spite some candidate who’s anti-choice but not quite as openly racist as they’d like? Fuck no. I guarantee you they will not. That’s exactly how we got where we are now: because they voted anyway and liberals/progressives got apathetic and stayed home.
And then guess what? The candidates that they voted in? Guess whose opinions they cared about catering to. Guess whose protests they listened to. Not the people who never voted for them anyway. So the whole country got pushed to the right a little bit more.
But the thing is, it works in the other direction too. We can pull back. If you vote in Dems, you’ll be able to go back later and say “hey asshole, I voted for you, these are the issues I care about, make it fucking happen.”
We just have to fucking vote to do that, and at this point you need to vote blue just to cancel the assholes out and give us all a hope in hell of surviving the next few years.
